Krita for Comics Ep. 4: Perspective Tools

Perspective Tools in Krita

In part 4 of the Krita for Comics series, students will be introduced to perspective tools. Krita features a host of tools, called assistants, that can help with a variety of technical drawing aspects. We’ll take a look at the types of assistants available and learn how to use them in a conjunction with other tools to make technical and perspective drawing a snap.

Perspective is essential in art, especially in 2D art. When you try to emulate 3D objects on a 2D plane, you want to do it correctly otherwise your art can end up looking off. Perspective creates the illusions of space and depth on a flat surface. Poor perspective drawings can make an orange look like the size of a mountain. But done correctly, viewers will be able to tell the orange is in the forefront of the mountain.
